Item description
Boujad rugs are a type of Moroccan rug that is characterized by its bold, geometric patterns and its vibrant colors. They are traditionally woven by the Berber women of the Boujad region in the Middle Atlas Mountains in Morocco.
Boujad rugs are known for their high quality and durability. The wool is typically hand-spun and hand-dyed, and the rugs are woven using a double-knot technique that creates a dense and tightly woven fabric. This makes Boujad rugs very resistant to wear and tear, and they can last for many years.

Boujaad rugs are handwoven pile rugs made using natural wool fibers and vegetable dyes. Newly woven rugs will show solid and vibrant colors, typically reds, oranges, pinks, and purples. At the same time, older vintage rugs may have lovely washed pastel tones.
The Boujaad rug comes from the Haouz region of Morocco, an area in the middle Atlas Mountains. As with all rugs, the boujaad rug represents the weaver, where her story is expressed in rich geometric patterns and varying colors, often pinks, reds, and purples. These rugs are increasingly rare and difficult to find, as their popularity has soared in recent years.
A beautifully characterful and authentic vintage rug full of life and personality, combining a rainbow array of colors in a finely balanced grid of little diamond motifs. Woven in pure and silky hand-spun wool on a thick cotton base (made of used textiles), it's a lovely personal piece.
Traditionally handwoven by women from soft, natural wool, Boujaad rugs tend to feature bright red, pinks, mauve, or orange backgrounds and irregular geometric patterns that reflect the marriage of the Arab and Berber cultures in Morocco.
