Item description
The Yuma Connection is a signed and numbered limited edition print by Kenneth Riley.
The image size is 14 1/4" x 26". Overall size is 17 1/4" x 29 1/2". It was published by Somerset House in 1984 in an edition size of 1,000.
In the 1870s, the Colorado River was alive with steamboats carrying cargo and passengers from the Gulf of California to hamlets upstream. Yuma, Arizona was a major port, being on the primary southern land route to California from the east. It was a colorful place, a mixture of ethnic groups and frontier types. Shallow draft boats like this were eventually phased out with the coming of the railroad and improved cross country travel.
About the Artist: Kenneth Riley is a charter member of the National Academy of Western Art (NAWA). His paintings are in the permanent collections of the White House, the West Point Museum, the Smithsonian, Custer Museum, and the Air Force Academy. He is a member of the Cowboy Artists of America (CAA) and has been featured in Artists of the Rockies, Art West, and Southwest Art magazines.
