Item description
This is a vintage A.S. Hind's bottle with embossed mark indicating their Honey and Almond cream lotion. The clear, antique cosmetic bottle is also embossed Portland, Maine USA. Hind was advertising this product from around the 1860s until the company was bought out in 1907. As it is a screw-top, I believe this dates in the later date range, around 1907. Advertising suggested the product "improved complexion". My father, an avid bottle hunter, found the bottle more than 40 years ago in the ruins of an old plantation in Virginia. The vintage lotion bottle is in great shape, free from breaks or cracks. Clarity is nice but there is some sediment deposit, especially around the neck. The bottle measures about 5.5" x 2.25" x 1.25".
