Artist Biography: Growing up in the heart of the central plains proved fruitful for the nature enthusiast and artist. Anderson could often be found observing a flock of mallards, ring-necked pheasants or a den of foxes, which inspired his art, prints and posters. Winning the prestigious Federal duck stamp competition in 1988 fulfilled a lifelong goal for Neal Anderson, making his art, prints and posters popular all around the country. In 1991 he designed Nebraska's "First of State" waterfowl stamp and art print. This was a fitting tribute to an artist who has devoted much of his time to conservation.
