We did not test it as we did not have a battery.
Takes an odd battery but I assume you could easily install a new 4x AA battery holder to use modern batteries for the 6v required. (or wire in a wall wart for bench use)
has some signs of use and stickers on it but overall nice for its age
leather handle looks good
