1887-1949,
A Native of Bishop, California
by William Henry Shirley
(San Carlos, California): (Ploeger's Services), (1992).
First edition, first printing.
Statement "First edition, first printing" to the copyright page.
Errata slip laid in.
Biographical foreword by Wilda Shirley Tillmanns.
Memoir stories beginning with growing up on his father's pioneer ranch in early California, learning about horses, roping, Indians, immigrant Chinese, mining and miners, wagons, ranching, horse racing, hoodlums and more.
Shirley created his own ranch/farm and lived there his whole life, growing oranges, raising chickens, and using his talents as a carpenter. He was hired as a carpenter-designer by Knotts Berry Farm to make the wagons and everything necessary to create an authentic looking frontier Ghost Town, that still exists today.
Faint sticker shadow to the front cover, mild crease to front lower corner, else near fine in textured beige stiff-card wraps with black titles to the front cover and to the spine; errata slip laid in.
Octavo; 97 pages.
