A Book of Monologues
Florence Ryerson

Baker's Plays
Copyright 1940
90 pages
Foreword by Irene Rich
The front hinge is starting to crack and the binding is weakening. The pages are clean but lightly tanned. The cover shows edge wear, especially to spine ends and corners. Includes a glassine jacket, which has tears and is very edge worn. Acceptable. Hardcover.
From the Foreword: Of all the charming nitwits of my acquaintance, both in life and in literature, I believe Winnie Weeks in easily my favorite. Her flawless inanity, her innocent egotism, the giddy enthusiasm with which she pursues every new fad and fancy have given me numerous chuckles. She is your Cousin Martha and my Aunt Lucinda. She is the woman next door, and the club lady who poses for the newspaper photographer as the Spirit of Yuletide. I hope the addle-pated darling will endear herself to you as she has to me--and bring a little more laughter into a world which is sadly in need of it. (#0000458)
