DEBBIE STEWART the artist:
In the artist's words, "My career and lifelong creative journey includes a lot of books and avid writing and drawing in journals and sketchbooks. Words and pictures is, this is intentional, where I live.
I am the author and illustrator of Exploring Labyrinths. A Mini-Tour and Coloring Experience. My artwork is in public and private collections and has been exhibited in numerous juried shows held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Grand Rapids, Muskegon, and Detroit.
I have 32 years of experience in library programming and teaching all ages including baby, toddler, and preschool storytime classes; elementary, middle and high school workshops in science and art; book talks and discussions with seniors; and poetry with all ages. I have experience working with special needs children and adults. I enjoy dancing, listening to music, and hiking.
I want to share, pray, and play with you, while you explore and are transformed by your own creativity and spirituality.
My career and lifelong creative journey includes a lot of books and avid writing and drawing in journals and sketch books. Words and pictures is, this is intentional, where I live.
My work is musical because I use labyrinths, waterfalls, colors, and shapes, instead of notes and sounds to create an emotional atmosphere. Photographic references and rulers are used sparingly. Compasses are not used. Images are purposely hand drawn to celebrate the unique look hand drawing creates.
