Item description
#17 in the series. Author is Margaret Sutton. John Axe Format IV.
Grosset and Dunlap. Copyright 1946. This orange-board book is a very early printing, but not a first edition, which is an emerald green book. The orange books were published between 1946 and 1948. This particular book has the pink staircase endpapers, placing it pre-1947. It seems, therefore, that this is a 1946 second printing.
The dust jacket front flap lists to itself. The rear flap lists to Nancy Drew The Mystery of the Tolling Bell (1946) and the rear of the jacket lists to Cherry Ames Veterans' Nurse (1947), which was likely an anticipated title rather than a published title. The dust jacket has a "6565" designation at the top front flap, and a "110-150" designation at the bottom of that flap.
Maroon top page block. No writing/markings. No tracking, no loose, ripped or missing pages. Corner bumping, serious bump at lower right of spine.
