Fine in waxed bright red linen over waxed black linen with gilt embossed titles to the spine; in a very good dust jacket with small tears and nicks to the edges, a small chip to the upper spine panel, and age-toning to the spine panel and edges, red patterned end-papers; original printed $7.50 price still intact to the front inner flap.
A study of Chaucer's "The Knight's Tale" with an emphasis on the satiric
elements of the poem.
Thurston argues that as opposed to praising the
ideals of the age of chivalry, the poem is meant as satire, and
questions those cherished traditions.
Octavo; 240 pages; notes; bibliography.
