This historical fantasy novel for young adults is set in 1938 and centers around a Black family on a farm in Ohio who, with their neighbors are frightened by the Orson Welles radio broadcast stating that aliens have landed.
The young protagonist, Willie Bea experiences Halloween, family and friends, fright, and everyone's reactions and reconciliations.
