Epic tale of one man's daring courage to take on the might of an empire. Using state-of-the-art visual effects, this spectacular adventure brings new life to the story of Moses (Bale) as he defies the Pharoah Ramses (Edgerton), setting 400,000 slaves on a monumental journey of escape from Egypt and its terrifying cycle of deadly plauges.
The only drawback to this epic re-telling is the insistence to put a natural explanation to the miracles. The burning bush was perhaps Moses dreaming or hallucinating after being bonked on the head. The Nile river turning to blood is because crocodiles are feasting on swimmers upstream. And I think the parting of the Red Sea is explained away by a meteroite strike or something?
I can't remember, anyhow, it goes on and on with this godless, agnostic version of the story.
