Vintage original 27x41 in. US "Style A" one-sheet poster from the popular 1970's all-star cast comedy, SCAVENGER HUNT, released in 1979 by 20th Century-Fox and directed by Michael Schultz. To inherit a fortune, various addressees of a will must compete in a wild scavenger hunt to collect selected items, but cannot be simply bought.
This "Style A" one-sheet boasts great artwork at the top that is reminiscent of the style of the renowned Robert Crumb along with photographic portraits of the main cast members at the bottom. Unrestored and folded as originally issued, this vintage original Style A one-sheet is in fine- condition with light signs of wear long the edge of the top border and along the left half of the bottom border; creases of varying sizes in the third left panel; and a small 1 in. kink in the second left panel. There are no pinholes, tears, stains, or other flaws and the bright color tints are fresh and vibrant without any signs of fading.
Director Michael Schultz immediately signed on to direct the film after producer Steven Vail told him that he had already signed on Cloris Leachman, Cleavon Little, James Coco, Tony Randall, Scatman Crothers, and Roddy McDowall. Schultz was so impressed by such an ensemble that he couldn't refuse. Schultz has stated that this is his most popular film that he has ever directed, which includes his hit films, The Last Dragon, Car Wash and Bustin' Loose. The film was shot entirely in San Diego as, according to Schultz, it was a far more controlled environment to be able to film in, particularly the final chase at the end of the film in which they were able to control traffic and allow all the stunts to go smoothly. The film was also shot there for budgetary reasons. The estate that was used as Milton Parker's lavish mansion would be the only time a major film production has been allowed to film in or around that property for a good 25 years after many scenes, including the final car race in particular, caused damage to the property.
