Vintage 8x10 in. US single-weight glossy restrike photograph (not a vintage original photo printed at the time it was taken, but one printed from the original negative at a later time) from the classic silent film drama/romance, THE SON OF THE SHEIK, released in 1926 by United Artists and directed by George FitzmauriceRudolph Valentino stars in his final film appearance due to his untimely death at the age of 31. The son of the Sheik and a beautiful dancing girl (Vilma Banky) fall in love but when he is made to believe that she has betrayed him, he seeks his revenge. The cast includes 
George Fawcett, Montagu Love, Karl Dane, Bull Montana, Bynunsky Hyman, Agnes Ayres.

The image features an interior medium shot of a laughing young Sheik Ahmed (Rudolph Valentino), wearing a beautiful Middle Eastern costume with a white turban with a black tassel hanging from the back, as he prevents the beautiful dancing girl, Yasmin (Vilma Banky), from stabbing him with the dagger in her hands. On the verso is a date stamp in blue ink dated DEC 27 1948. Printed on single-weight stock with a glossy finish, most likely in the 1930's or possibly 1940's, this vintage restrike photograph is in fine condition with ghosting in the top right of the background area where handwriting in pencil on the verso bleeds through and random signs of light wear in the borders. The image quality is very sharp with fine detail and beautiful contrast.
