Vintage original 8x10 in. US single-weight glossy photograph from the classic 1930's boxing drama WINNER TAKE ALL, released in 1932 by Warner Bros. and directed by Roy Del Ruth. James Cagney stars as a young boxer who meets a former night club table singer at a health ranch and subsequently falls for her. He endangers his health to get back into the ring to raise money for her sickly son.

The image features a terrific interior medium shot of boxer Jimmy Kane (James Cagney) trading punches as he slugs it out with another fighter in a boxing rang with a huge crowd of fans in the background. Printed for the film's original 1932 US theatrical release by Warner Bros., this vintage original photograph is in fine- condition with the light outline of a paper clip beneath the top border near the left corner; two 4 in. long horizontal scratches in the upper background area just beneath the top border; several small random creases in the image area; very light ghosting on Cagney's face from where a prior owner wrote the number 16 inside of a circle in pencil on the verso; a small crease on the top left corner; and some light smudging in the borders. The image quality is razor-sharp with fine detail land beautiful contrast.

The reason James Cagney looked so good in boxing films was that he was actually an accomplished amateur boxer, once placing second as a lightweight in a New York state boxing tournament.
