Francisco Baltazar is known much more widely through his nom-de-plum FRANCISCO BALAGTAS, a prominent Filipino poet. He is considered as the Tagalog equivalent of Wiliam Shaespeare for his impact on Filipino literature. The famous epic, FLORANTE at LAURA is regarded as his defining work.
Fittingly, a design of the famous literary piece, FLORANTE at LAURA with a laurel leaf and feather pen is shown in the envelope.
