Paper size of this photo print is 2 3/4" x 4 3/4". On unmarked standard print paper. This print was very likely made soon after it was taken and likely at Saipan itself or on a ship there. This came to me as part of a group identified as being Saipan and included was a shot of the base Chapel which confirms it. The exact date was not noted and as the island is listed in Guinness as being the most consistent climate we can't really tell what time of year this is.
This slightly panoramic photo shows the drill field with some number of Navy men in formation. The detail is very good, with a magnifying glass you can see one of the men carrying a bass drum and you can see the drumstick. In the background are buildings including a number of semi-permanent barracks types, and to the right also some peaked tents.
Very Good condition, a nicely surviving example with only hint of age or wear to the paper.
