THE NURSERY-MANUAL by L. H. Bailey

The Macmillan Company, 22nd Ed., 1929

Condition:  Very Good+ in Good dust jacket

First published in 1891, this book was long regarded as a standard work on the propagation of plants, by means of seeds, layers, cuttings, buds, grafts and otherwise.  This rewritten 1920s edition contains an extended alphabetic list of plants with full indications under each one for propagation and an illustrated account of the main diseases and insects of nursery stock. There are 12 full-page photo plates and numerous other illustrations.  456 pages.  The binding  is secure, including fully intact hinges.  I observed no writing or markings in the book.  The pages have only light toning, except in the inner margins.  The cover corners are bumped, though not seriously and with just light wear; there is some wear on the bottom cover edges and at the bottom of the front cover.  The top page edges have a 1" red mark.  The jacket has tears at the top (the worse) and bottom; the fold corners have wear, again mainly on the top ones, and there are creases on the flaps (though none are clipped).  This title is uncommon in the dust jacket.
