Beautifully ornate Sessions “Grand No. 3” mantel clock, manufactured around 1915 by the Sessions Clock Company of Forestville, Connecticut. This is one of three models in the “Grand” line, each known for its high-quality oak casework and detailed carving. This example stands an impressive 23 inches tall and features its original gold stenciled glass door, Roman numeral dial, and elaborate pressed oak case.
This clock features an 8-day time and strike movement, with a half-hour and hour chime on a coil gong. The original paper label with operating instructions is still affixed to the back. The movement appears complete and the key turns smoothly. While I’m not a clock expert and did not fully wind it to avoid damage, it does chime when the hands are adjusted.
A striking piece for collectors or anyone who appreciates antique craftsmanship. Sold as-found with no guarantees on mechanical function, but all signs point to a well-preserved example ready for light restoration or display.
