One of the points of the bit keepers is to aid turning by making contact with the horses cheek when a rein aid is given to turn, keeps the upper long cheeks away from the face when on straight lines unless contact in turning. Our bit keepers are designed to securely hold the bit across the entire cheek in the horse's mouth. Thanks to the holders, the bit does not tip over too far and does not get stuck under the primer. The leather keepers loops allows the full cheek bit to function properly and keeps the bit more stable. These leather straps are used with a full cheek. The bit loops is attached to both sides of the bridle. These bit keepers have loops on each side. The first loop goes around the cheek, the second goes to the top of the full cheek. A fulmer or full cheek should ideally be used with fulmer loops as the long cheeks may catch or get caught up and frighten the horse.
Leather bit loops help provide:
-safety so they don't get caught on anything
-they limit the nutcracker action on young horses
-they keep the cheek pieces vertical.
