MCM 70s Art IITTALA TIMO SARPANEVA CANDLE HOLDER 2 RINGS CRYSTAL FINLAND FESTIVO

This is 1 beautiful vintage Scandinavian/Danish modern Iittala crystal 2 rings candle holder. I believe this design is called Festivo design Iittala Timo Sarpaneva Heavy Textured Art Glass Candle Holder Signed TS.

This is a stunning heavy textured littala Candlestick Holder made and signed by famed artist Timo Sarpaneva. A heavy piece and measures aprox 4.75 inches tall and aprox 3 inches across. Second photo top right you can see the signature mark TS.

In excellent condition. Signed engraved TS on bottom. Sculptural clear textured glass cylinder candlestick produced by Iittala of Finland. I believe thid candlestick is called Festivo and was designed by one of Iittala's chief contemporary designers, Timo Sarpaneva in 1968. Festivo is characterised by heavily textured clear glass, with each piece handblown through a wood mold giving it a rustic handmade quality. The candle holder appears like two different sized cylinders placed one on top of the other joined in the middle by a thick banded molded seam. It is stabilised with an outward curving footed base, where this form is replicated at its top opening, that boasts Iittala's hallmark polished rolled edge flat rim finish. Sarpaneva cleverly depicted the wonderful natural elements, such as ice, glaciers and tree bark, of his home country, and Festivo is a fine example of this. In beautiful original condition, it is a mid-century statement piece when displayed on its own, or as a hero piece that would most certainly enhance any Scandinavian glass collection.
