Funrise Micro Sized
Grumman F9F-6 Cougar US Navy / USMC Jet Fighter, New Out of Package Condition, from 1989!

Here's a rare treat in never played-with, only stored away for many years condition, a Funrise micro jet.

This is a Grumman F9F-6 Cougar Jet Fighter, which was used by both the US Navy and the USMC, from the 1950's until the mid 1970's.
This micro was made in the late 1980's by Funrise which made some really great micro machine vehicles.

The jet is a approx. 1 1/2" inches long. It is made of plastic and has small rolling wheels underneath it.

I will gladly combine S&H with other micros or larger diecasts as well. I have this listed as "used" only because it's loose and out of the package, it is actually in new without packaging and unplayed-with condition.

  • Introduced in 1953 as the swept-swing successor to the F9F Panther, the Cougar was intended for combat over Korea, but arrived too late for the war. The Cougar saw its sole combat in Vietnam, where four two-seat training versions of the aircraft served briefly as forward air control aircraft. The Cougar was an excellent product nonetheless; on 1 April 1954, F9F-6s accomplished the first transcontinental flights to be completed in less than 4 hours, and training variants of the aircraft were used until 1974.
