Variegated String of Buttons ( Crassula perforata f. variegata) (Thunberg): One of the best-loved stacked Crassula species with alternating, triangular leaves of pale green and cream variegation.Crassula perforata ‘Variegata’ is a variegated form of Crassula perforata. It is relatively fast growing, somewhat shrubby and sprawling plant, up to 18 inches (46 cm) tall. The leaves are up to 1 inch (2.5 cm) long.

 
Variegated String of Buttons, a fast-growing shrubby succulent that grows well in a terrariums indoors. It has triangle-shaped gray-green leaves with pinkish tint tips, which grow opposite each other and can reach up to 1 to 2 feet tall and 2 to 3 feet wide. It blooms a small cluster of small, starry, pale yellow flowers in Spring months.
 
The Variegated String of Buttons, Crassula perforata f. variegata, has a naturally dense upright to sprawling habit slowly building to 8-16" high. It is a naturally evergreen miniature shrub-like member of the Jade family from South Africa and it is reported to be hardy into zone 9.
