THE COVER The original Adams revolver (a) fired double-action only and lacked both cocking spur and loading lever. It used wadded bullets loaded by finger pressure. Beaumont-Adams or later version (b) could be fired single or double action. Revolver on Adams principle (c) featured W. Tranter's patented loading lever and a patented double trigger permitting it to be fired single or double action. Also shown are an appropriate mold, flask and spike-tailed bullets for Adams revolvers, and "collar-button" Tranter bullets.
