Cayenne- Black and/or Purple- turns to Red as it matures.
 
You’ve heard of the classic Cayenne Pepper, but the Cayenne Purple is a twist.  The Purple Cayenne Pepper is a dark purple that grows to three to 5 inches long, and the plant grows just over two feet tall with beautiful white-purple flowers. They are hot peppers, but the flavor is impressive as it is slightly sweeter than the red cayenne pepper.  They are great used fresh, pickled, dried, or ornamentally, and you can use them to make hot pepper flakes, salsas, or vinegar sauce! Plants produce good yields of green peppers that turn purple (almost black), then red in the last stage of maturity.  
 
Species: Capsicum Annuum 
 
Heat Level: 30,000-50,000 Scoville heat units
 
Start indoors 10-14 weeks prior to last frost. Transplant to 4 inch pots when true leaves appear. Requires hardening. Transplant seedlings 24-36 inches apart in well-draining loamy soil. Water regularly. Harvest peppers with gloves when deep red and wrinkled

Shipping of Seeds and Cuttings: Orders are shipped via Canada Post Mail unless otherwise specified. 
 
Some items are shipped without tracking to keep costs low. This is  the most economical option. Canada Post is incredibly reliable, but can be slow.

We try to ship any live plants on MONDAYS or TUESDAYS as a precautionary measure to avoid delays over the weekend and ensure the viability of live plant orders. Weather may be a contributing factor in the processing of our orders and will occasionally cause some delay. 
 
We will ship seeds anywhere in the world, however, please make sure you check with your country's customs office to be sure that they are allowed in. We will not be held responsible for orders held, confiscated and/or destroyed by customs. Please note this and make sure you understand before you buy it.
