Synopsis:
Maximus (played by Russell Crowe) was a renowned and admired general of the Roman Empire, known for his outstanding military achievements. The old king Marcus Aurelius (played by Richard Harris) highly appreciates the Grand General and intends to crown him. The old king's love for the general, which transcends family ties, naturally aroused the jealousy and anxiety of the crown prince Commodus (played by Joaquin Phoenix).
