Grande Rio Verde Tomatillo (Physalis ixocarpa), also known as Mexican Husk Tomato, is very commonly used to made Mexican salsa verde. Tomatillos thrive in heat and high temps, growing just as easily as pepers and tomatoes. Close relative to the Cape Gooseberry and ground cherries, this tomatillo is a staple in Mexican cuisine. Excellent for salsas, sauces, and stews. Tomatillos will grow to be 2"-3" across enclosed in a papery husk and are self-sterile, so plant plenty. Very disease resistant
