Genre: Reggae     Style: Dub

Glen Brown was a reggae singer, musician, and record producer from the 70’s who formed two record labels: Pantomime and South East Music.  Known as “The Rhythm Master,” he recorded for Prince Buster, U Roy, Gregory Isaacs, Big Youth, I-Roy, Prince Jazzbo and many others.  This collection  of instrumentals based on the same rhythms as the Dee-Jay album Dubble Attack, but focuses on Glen Browns’ studio mastery, and includes King Tubby on the mixing board.  Highlights: the guitar on Mr. Baldhead Aitken, the melodica lines on Merry Up, and the organ solo on No More Slavery.  Some of the legendary musicians here include: Robbie Shakespeare, Aston “Family Man” Barrett, and Tommy McCook.  Like the liner notes say: “Lunatic is a word that arrives easily when listening to this CD.  If you want to laugh as you rave, this one is for you.”  Yeah, it’s crazy good.
