This jewelry box is made of solid wood.  It has hinges on the back and it opens up smoothly to a velvet-lined tray with dividers to store jewelry or trinkets.  The tray removes easily to an open compartment underneath.  On the top of the lid is a quote written  by the late great  Poet,  Maya Angelou.  The box measures 10" x 10" x 5.5".  It is a heavier, sturdy piece and is in excellent condition.
