As best we can tell based on the hallmarks in the spoon bowl, we believe this spoon to be sterling silver. We narrowed the maker’s mark to Albert Deflon based on the same stamp mark in a French compendium for silversmiths. He operated from 1907-1920 and did many collectible spoons in and around France. Most all are considered sterling based on the assay mark opposite the maker’s mark. See last photo from compendium for maker’s mark comparison

The spoon has an etching of the Vendome Column and a quick search on that column revealed:

“In 1810, the column that we see today was placed in the centre of the place Vendôme. 44 metres high, it was dedicated to the soldiers of the battle of Austerlitz, inspired by Trajan's column in Rome. Cast in the bronze from 1200 cannons seized from the Russian and Austrian armies, it is decorated in classical style with bas reliefs representing trophies.”

The spoon is just under 5 inches long and weighs 11.5 grams. Great collectible and a very sturdy well made spoon that has definitely withstood the test of time.
