The Door Latch is an OEM part for Frigidaire microwaves. It is located inside the microwave cavity and has two hooks responsible for securely engaging with the door panel when closed. This latch mechanism signals to the microwave's control board that the door is safely shut, allowing cook cycles to operate.

Symptoms of a faulty door latch include:

• The microwave failing to start or run cooking cycles
• Error codes related to the door sensing as open
• Difficulty fully closing or latching the door securely

Common causes are wear on the latch hooks from repeated opening/closing stresses over time. Improper alignment can also prevent full engagement needed to inform controls the door is shut.
