Sci-fi adventure based on the novel by Jules Verne. Wealthy Alice Hastings (Tushka Bergen) employs geologist Theodore Lytton (Treat Williams) and his nephew Jonas (Jeremy London) to find her missing husband Casper Hastings (Bryan Brown), lost during an expedition to New Zealand. The rescuers track Casper into the mysterious caves of a volcanic crater and risk their lives to get to the centre of the Earth, where they meet a tribe of prehistoric humans led by Hastings. His ambition is to take a magical cure-all plant to the civilized world and become extremely rich and powerful.
