At first we thought “ that’s an odd shaped football” because of the laces. Then we realized this charm is OLD. As in probably made when basketball were made with laces. So we had to do research and we found the first laceless basketballs were introduced in 1932. Now we also found Beau sterling was introduced in 1947 undef the name Beaucraft and was in operation until 2000 or so. So really not sure what to think but perhaps this might have been a charm for a high school and in 15 years maybe the transformation from laced to lace less basketballs had not cycled yet. Or it’s just a nod to a throwback - or most likely some basketball program bought a few hundred of these and was going to use them until stock was depleted!
It’s pretty cool regardless and something we hope someone will want for any number of reasons.
Charm is about 1/2 inch wide and is marked Beau Sterling on both basketball and bale.
