This old nut or hard spice (think nutmeg) grinder has a glass base with a clear yellow plastic cone top with a red plastic handle, and a metal top with the blades inside, the very top portion of the cone is also red and swivels to allow the ground nuts or spice to be poured out. The top is marked with measurements up to 2 tablespoon. The glass body of the grinder has a ridged design and is marked Federal Tool Company, Chicago. With the cone lid on it measures approximately 7 1/4 inches tall, and with out the lid it stands approximately 4 3/4 inches tall. The blades turn, but not well. The metal portion of the lid does have a great deal of wear inside and out, and paint loss around the outer edge. My mother had one similar to this and she put potpourri in hers. When properly packaged this one will ship at a 2 pound rate.
