Signed and Inscribed First Edition of Archibald Rutledge's My Colonel & His Lady --A sentimental biographical memoir of the author's parents --his father had been the youngest colonel in the Confederate army-- on a post-Civil War impoverished rice plantation in South Carolina.
- Hardcover Book published in 1937 by Bobbs-Merrill.
- Archibald's signature on title page in pen and pencil. Inscription written in ink on Chapter One's title page dated May, 1944, in Rutledge's handwriting from "Old Faithful" to Sidney Harris, who wrote a "B-S" commentary note in pencil on the last page, after "The End."
Acceptable Used Condition: This book has obviously been around. Cover condition is rough.
- First end page is missing. Cover boards are cracked from spine, but binding is intact. First page of chapter one has a test through it, but entire page is still secure to the binding.
- Pages are tanned from age. A handful of pages, as well as inner back cover have been embellished with scribbling.
