Pretty unique find! This cut glass and sterling silver overlay perfume bottle is definitely a throwback to the Victorian era. Based on the hallmarks we were able to determine who made it (Levi & Salaman) based in the L&S hallmark. The anchor told us Birmingham England, the lion confirmed British Sterling Silver and the “m” in the pillbox mark corresponds to the letter date for Birmingham of 1911. We double checked the dates Levi & Salaman were in business and those confirmed the above as they made items between 1890- 1914.
A couple quick condition notes. The piece of glass that is under the cap would not budge. We had hoped to clean the inside of the glass as it looks like there is a well preserved bug. Alas, the next owner will get the joy of doing that.
The perfume bottle stands 3 inches tall. The glass feels very thick. Bottle still has perfume remnants (smells) when opened.
