Antique Art Deco era three piece vanity set with hallmarks indicating Sterling Silver and made by R. Blackinton. Roswell Blackinton founded the business in 1860 in North Attleboro Massachusetts and it is still in business today and still being run by the Blackinton family.
We debated whether or not to list all three pieces of list them separately or without the mirror as it is damaged. It appears perhaps water got inside it at some point. In the end we determined that it was in too good a shape overall and the mirror could be fixed.
Please note each piece has been monogrammed with “FRA” we believe.
The powder jar is a very interesting design pattern and has a lid that weighs over 2.5 Oz Troy just by itself. It carries a model number of 3408.
The brush is approximately 10 inches in length and has the model number 3427.
The mirror is over 13 inches in length and carries the model number of what we believe is 3400. Usually the largest vanity mirror was the first piece of a set and had 00. The 4 has worn off but knowing it goes with the other two pieces, allows us to make the assumption it’s 3400. The mirror is damaged and we have gone our best to take photos at different angles.
We did not bother to weigh the mirror or brush as it won’t help in determining sterling content. We know the quality is fantastic and the value of this set well exceeds it’s scrap value especially for the right collector.
Will ship USPS with tracking to winning buyer. We will require a Signed Delivery Receipt to protect both buyer and seller. Seller will pay for it.
