Vanderbilt University Desk Top Magnifying Glass Paperweight Metranga Wood Design.

Found this in the box at a recent estate sale. Looked too nice to just allow it to be thrown away so we brought it back and hope a Vanderbilt alum might want it. First we looked up The Wild Bunch. Here’s what we found:

“The Wild Bunch Fund was established in 1997 to honor late Chancellor Emeritus Alexander Heard and his wife, Jean Heard. The fund was started by seven former Vanderbilt student leaders who called themselves the “Wild Bunch.” The group formed in 1973 when Heard extended an open invitation to the freshman class to meet for lunch. Those who attended went on to develop strong friendships with each other and Heard over the years, long past graduation.”

If you are a Vanderbilt alum, you probably knew this.

We assume this was a gift for a contribution to the fund or for having been a speaker or honored guest.

Made from Metranga wood which is an entirely different and unique aspect with this desktop magnifying glass & paper weight. We took a photo about the company and artist in the photos.
