Brand new factory sealed blu-ray is Out Of Print (OOP) in all formats and no longer being manufactured.
Last film directed by Castle, this imaginative and amusing story hovers uneasily between horror, black comedy, and sentiment.
The story features French mime artist Marcel Marceau as SHANKS, a put-upon deaf-mute puppeteer working for an old scientist (Marceau again) who shows him how to make dead animals move by means of electric currents. When the old man dies he discovers that human corpses too can be re-animated and starts to use the technique as a means of avenging himself on those who have abused him throughout his life.
Although the rape and murder of Shanks' only friend, a young girl (Cindy Eilbacher), seems curiously out of place, the films production values are excellent, Marceau is compulsively watchable and the score by Alex North (father of producer Steve) was nominated for an Oscar.
