This lamp holds a small light bulb. I have used an appliance bulb in the shade.  The trough is lit also.  I have never replaced that bulb but it can be accessed through the bottom of the piece. The piece is bronze to the best of my knowledge, including the shade. It does not react to a magnet. The shade is permanently affixed to the bottom by way of a pole that looks like a tree.  The background is a fence. The rider looks like a farmer and the horse may be a plow horse or farm horse because of the look of the piece on his body--like it was attached by leather to something. There is no visible damage to the piece. I have checked ears, feet, etc and all are in tact.  The finish may have been shiny at some point because I can see splotches of shiny areas but basically it is dull.  I have not applied anything to it to shine it up.  I have only dusted it over the years.  It is very heavy.  It is 21 inches tall and at the widest part of the shade it is about 12 inches wide.  I am paying for the shipping so it will be shipped however I decide is the safest.  If you are local I would prefer delivering it myself. Also it may take me longer than 3 business days to get it on its way but I will keep the buyer advised.
