The 6MR500-NDY-4, from PRV Audio, is made to be a class-leading midrange
woofer in the pro audio realm, as well as high output car and home audio, thanks
to high-power neodymium radial slugs that immerse the voice coil in a strong
magnetic field.
Not only does the unique motor design keep the mounting depth at less than
3" (great for car doors), it provides superior speaker control for reduced
distortion. Additionally, the pole piece copper has a copper sleeve which lowers
inductance thereby improving high frequency response. With a usable, extended
frequency response from 104 to 12,500 Hz, this midwoofer also works great as a
high output, full-range satellite speaker.
A bumped backplate, vented magnet system, vented pole piece, Kapton®
former, open cast-aluminum frame, and treated-cloth surround allow for high
power handling, while protecting this driver from extreme transient power
peaks.
