A weird crime tale of a married ventriloquist who falls in love with another woman and must choose between bigamy and murder (divorce not an option). He opts for the murder and attempts to evade detection by throwing and imitating his wife's voice after she is dead. It does not go well and the fugitive couple decide to put themselves permanently beyond the reach of justice.

Bound in light brown cloth, lettered in black on the spine. Original unclipped dust jacket with mylar protective cover. 286 pages. 7.5" x 5".
