Thirteen issues of
The Pacific Telephone Magazine
(from 1915 and 1916)

A collection of antique issues of The Pacific Telephone Magazine from 1915 and 1916. This monthly periodical was published in San Francisco by The Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company for the benefit of its California, Oregon and Washington employees. It always featured some telephone-related building on the frontispiece, had several articles relating to some aspect of the telephone company plus one page of humor, and featured several pages of Notes from Divisions that basically was gossip about telephone personnel (mostly retirements, promotions, and who left the company to get married). Each issue also has a Statement of Development in the back that lists the number of subscribers in every California city of over 300 people, the gain or loss in that number since the first of the year, and the current list of officials of
The Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company. An interesting and revealing look into the close-knit telephone company society of a century ago.

Also included in this item is a fold-out photographic PANORAMA of over 200 of the Telephone Pioneers of America posing at the Panama-Pacific International Exposition after attending their convention in San Francisco from September 21 to 23, 1915. It has four creases (from folding) and two holes have been punched in the left margin.
